Costume Design for Film
Collaborating with a team of filmmakers to convey the personality of a character, or the theme of a movie, is an exciting opportunity for a fashion designer. Allison always considers being able to work with a creative team an invaluable experience, as it gives her the chance to hear other people’s ideas and merge them with her own creativity in order to produce costumes everyone on the team can be proud of.
These floral head pieces are made from old curtains and a tablecloth found secondhand, as are the fringe and sequins on the western-style rooster robe. Finding materials secondhand often means both saving money for the team, as well as achieving a look or texture that is more one-of-a-kind.
